Community Appreciation Picnic Scheduled At Frank Myers Auto Maxx in Winston Salem

Frank Myers Auto Maxx is excited to announce that they have scheduled their annual Community Appreciation Picnic on Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 11am to 3pm. The event will be held behind the dealership in the customer parking area and feature acres of free food cooked on the port-a-pit grill, bounce houses and rides for the kiddos,  Blue Ridge Ice Cream, several race cars, the cash cage and much more. Making appearances will be Lanky Lou, Uncle Frank and Bolt. Also making an appearance will be professional wrestler #1 George South, who will be signing autographs. Admission is free, regardless of whether a persons car was bought from Frank Myers Auto Maxx or not, and the public is invited to participate in the festivities.

Tracy Myers, owner of Frank Myers Auto Maxx, said, “Our customer appreciation picnic is my families way of saying thank you to great folks in this community for always supporting the dealership. It’s always a lot of fun and I’m not sure who enjoys it more…my Team Members or our customers.” Myers continued, “I’ll be here that entire day and it’s my sincere wish that I get to shake everyone’s hand and say hello. Frank Myers Auto To Give $5000 To Triad Charity

Frank Myers Auto Maxx has announced that they will deliver $5,000 to a worthy Triad-based charity on Facebook this year in honor of their “Uncle Frank Cares” giveaway. The money will be donated to the top Triad-based charity as voted on by Frank Myers Auto Maxx Facebook fans on https://www.facebook.com/frankmyersautomaxx

Frank Myers Auto Maxx will start accepting charity nominations on their Facebook Fan Page beginning January 3rd with nominations will end on March 31. Voting will begin on April and end on December 21. The top charity will be announced on December 24, 2012 based on the number of votes they have received.

Fans of Frank Myers Auto Maxx on Facebook will receive updates on which charities have been nominated and which charities are winning in the voting, as well as valuable information and incentives from the Winston-Salem used car dealership.  “Uncle Frank Cares” marks the inaugural year for this landmark undertaking. Nominations Start: January 1st, 2012 (9:00AM EST)

Nominations End: March 31st, 2012 (5:00PM CST)

Voting Starts: April 1st (9:00AM EST)

Voting Ends: December 21st (12:00PM EST)

VOTING (April 1st to December 21st):

1. We’ll list all the nominated organizations and voting will begin on April 1st.

2. The TOP 10 organizations with the most votes by December 1st all become finalists.

3. Voting will end on December 21st and the finalist with the most votes will be named the winner.

To be selected as a finalist, each nominated organization must meet the following criteria:

National organizations with at least one branch in North Carolina are also eligible to be nominated.

3. Charities may not be political or lobbying organizations

4. Charities should not discriminate based on race, gender or creed

5. Charities may not serve their own memberships exclusively (such as fraternal groups)

Give To Get

Ho ho ho, the holidays are here! If you’re like me, you’re wondering, “How did this happen?” 2011 flew by faster than I thought possible.

Each year I’m amazed at how quickly the year goes by. One minute I’m hearing back to school ads on the radio and then before I know it, Santa greets me at the grocery store, ringing that little bell in my ear.

Ok enough with the shock . . . there’s really nothing to do at this point but to embrace it! Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, New Years – they’re approaching and it’s time to step up and make this a season one to remember for many years to come.

Now I’m getting to my point. What I know for sure (and now I sound like Oprah) is that the term “Give to Get” really is true. Whenever I give of my time and talents, I reap a harvest of contentment and joy. What I also know is that without planning on my part, the chance of actually doing something for someone else decreases with each holiday party and activity.

Now is the time to make a plan to give. I promise that by giving to others this season, we will all grab our own pocket of joy amidst the craziness of the season!

Why not start small by giving to one of the organizations I’ve listed below? After that, you may feel so good that you want to do more. Find a place to volunteer your time – at a school, a shelter, a hospital, etc. The opportunities for giving are endless and no effort is too small. Ok, time to start . . .

Fame For Frank Myers Auto Mascot, Commercials and Slogan May Spread

Winston-Salem, NC used car dealership Frank Myers Auto Maxx is known for its flashy commercials, patriotic Uncle Frank mascot and “Everybody Rides” slogan.

This Wednesday, a  film crew will be at the used car dealership on Patterson Avenue. However, they won’t be filming another quirky commercial. Instead, they will be making a documentary.

“We were hushed for almost six months and couldn’t say anything about it,” said Tracy Myers, the dealership’s owner.

Frank Myers Auto Maxx Film Part Of Series

The documentary will be part of a series of films that will focus on businesses and people. It will be produced by Loud Entertainment, an entertainment company based in Orlando and Los Angeles.

The film will look at the history of the dealership and Tracy Myer’s “uphill battle” to grow Frank Myers Auto Maxx, said Nick Nanton, a co-owner of Loud Entertainment and a producer and director.

Nanton recently received two Emmy nominations for the short film “Jacob’s Turn,” the story of a boy with Down syndrome and his love of baseball.

“I’ve worked with over 500 businesses around the world and I look for diamonds in the rough,” Nanton said. “Tracy is certainly one of them.”

History Of Frank Myers Auto Maxx

Frank Myers, Tracy Myers’ great-grandfather, opened the original business as a general store 83 years ago. Later, he began selling cars.

Tracy Myers bought the dealership from his father, Franklin “Frank” Myers in 2005. Frank Myers has several other businesses, including Credit Quick of Winston-Salem, Big Daddy’s Auto Rental and Big Daddy’s Storage.

The dealership is known for its quirky TV commercials, often featuring Uncle Frank, an Uncle Sam figure who likes to dance.

Tracy Myers hears “Everybody Rides” everywhere he goes.

“At the bank, a restaurant, Wal-Mart, Target and the mall, somebody’s yelling at me, ‘Everybody Rides!’ ” he said. “It’s just become part of the Myers’ lifestyle.”

In 2010, the dealership was honored as the No. 1 small business in North Carolina by Business Leader magazine. It was also chosen last year as the only independent dealer in North Carolina to receive the Nations Premier Independent Dealer Award.

A major part of Loud Entertainment’s movie will be shot during the Myers Family Community Appreciation Picnic, which is open to the public, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday June 22, 2011.

Members of the Myers family will be interviewed at various venues in the city throughout the week.

“It will be a nice tribute to the city of Winston-Salem as well as our business,” Tracy Myers said.

A release date for the film has not been set. But when it is released, Myers plans to have a red-carpet premier of the movie.
