Used Ford F-150 Recall Affects 150k; Winston Salem Used Car Dealer Offers To Facilitate

Government pressure has caused Ford Motor Company to recall nearly 150,000 F-150 trucks to fix air bags that could deploy without warning. This number is a fraction of the vehicles the government says should be called back and repaired.

Used Ford F-150 trucks from the model years 2005-2006 are being issued the recall for what the Dearborn, Mich., company calls a “relatively low risk” of the air bag deploying inadvertently.

Ford has been urged by the government to recall 1.3 million F-150s from the 2004-2006 model years. They cite 98 injuries from air bags deploying accidentally. Ford’s F-Series pickup trucks are the best-selling vehicle in America and that’s one of the reasons the recall is being closely watched.

While it may sound strange, it’s my humble opinion that some of the 2011 cars are among the most interesting vehicles launched in the past 50 years. And although the entire new car industry is still suffering from the downfall of the economy, the automotive manufacturers continue to launch a newer, better, faster cars every year. Here are a few of the important and significant car launches that Winston Salem used car shoppers should be aware of.

2011 Ford Fiesta in Winston Salem

The Ford Fiesta is one of the most anticipated cars of 2011. It has been on sale in Europe since 2008. Now North America finally has their own version of this popular small car – and early test drives show it doesn’t disappoint.

So why do Winston Salem car buyers like the Fiesta so much? Because it offers things many other small cars don’t, such as the fun driving experience and a comfortable, upscale cabin. The available heated seats and Ford’s SYNC system plus a driver’s knee airbag are features rarely seen in its class. The Leaf is powered by a battery pack which can be charged by a standard 220-volt home outlet or a quick-charging station and runs on an electric motor. The Leaf can travel up to 100 miles on a full charge which is more than most people drive in a single day.

You could technically use the Leaf as a family car since it’s a four-door hatchback and seats up to five passengers. It is inexpensive to operate and should be ideal for Winston-Salem used car commuters since it doesn’t require gasoline. Nissan says that the Leaf should only cost three dollars to charge based on national average electricity rates.
