“My experience as a first time car buyer at Frank Myers this weekend was awesome. I’m not saying it because I was able to get a car the overall customer care was incredible! When I first came into the dealership I will be honest I was afraid! Because I got so many “No’s and Denies” in the past because of my lack of credit establishment. So I stepped out on faith and set an appointment to come in. Before purchase I owned an old beat up ’95 Honda Accord. With no money in my pocket and payday days away I gave it a try. My sales representative was good ol’ Micheal Wagner. He’s very eager to make stuff happen even if it kills him. He’s friendly and tries his very best to satisfy. After had given all my info results came back I needed a co-signer or thousands down. So I called up my dad. He came, but was a little discouraged because his credit wasn’t in good shape either. So we gave it a try. With him too…nothing. So with a smile on my face I vowed to save and come back. Once I got on the other side of town Wagner called me back and had a deal!!! Before I knew it u was signing off on a 2013 Toyota Corolla!!! And I drove off that day!!! I don’t force religion on nobody but God has a way of turning things around and blessing you when you’re humble. And that I was! And everyday I get in my car I thank him!!! I also thank the Frank Myers crew and my father because without them none of it would be possible!” – Actual Frank Myers Auto Mxxx Customer Review From May 28, 2014

While a lot of the country has been slammed with nasty winter weather this year, the Piedmont Triad area of NC has mostly avoided it. However, the forecast for next week doesn’t look promising. In fact, some weather people are calling for as much as a foot of snow being dumped sometime in the Winston-Salem, High Point and Kernersville areas mid-week. If that happens, the only ones who will benefit are grocery stores, towing companies and body shops.
Yes, I said body shops. It’s no secret that most people in the South aren’t very good at driving in the snow. In their defense, it’s not their fault. They simply don’t have the same experience as their Northern friends. That’s why it’s important to share a few tips on driving safely in winter weather.
Tips For Driving On Snow & Ice
1) Make sure you can see out of your windshield. This sounds like common sense but like Will Rogers said: “Common sense ain’t so common.” Cleaning the snow and/or ice off of your entire car, including the headlights, is the 1st step but there are others such as making sure you have good windshield wipers and have anti-icing fluid in your windshield washer system.
2) Watch out for “black ice”. Yeah, it’s tough to see it but it’s deadly so driver beware. It’s also called “glare ice” and the name does it justice. Sometimes it looks nearly transparent, other times it simply looks like a puddle of water and sometimes it can’t be seen at all. Snow is much easier to deal with than this.
3) Make sure your tires are properly inflated. Remember your parents or grandparents checking their tire pressure every time they bought gas for their car? Do YOU do that? Didn’t think so. While you should check your tire pressure often, it’s a “must do” when snow and ice are covering the ground.
4) Don’t use cruise control. Why? Because it’s dangerous to do so when driving on any slippery surface.
5) Accelerate and decelerate slowly. Better yet, do everything slower when you’re driving on snow and ice covered roads.
6) Make sure you have gas in your car. At least half a tank is recommended.
7) Make sure you have your cell phone. You also need to have your cell phone car charger with you.
8) Make sure your car battery is fully charged. Frank Myers Auto Repair can help you do this for no charge. Simply give them a call at (336) 831-0656 or visit their website at https://www.FrankMyersAutoRepair.com to schedule a time to drop by.
9) Carry some basic supplies with you. Things like an ice scraper, a shovel, a bag of sand, blankets, bottled water and non-perishable snacks could go a long way if you are ever stuck in your car during winter weather.
10) Stay at home. The basic rule of thumb during bad winter weather especially in the South, is STAY HOME.
Of course, the weather pros are wrong more times than they are right so this information may be for naught. If so, keep it handy because the bad winter weather usually sneaks up on you when you least expect it. Until then, you better get to the grocery store with the rest of the Triad peeps. The milk and bread will be gone soon.

The owner of a Winston-Salem, NC used car dealership was recently honored to receive an Emmy® Award. Tracy Myers, owner of Frank Myers Auto Maxx, won the award for serving as Executive Producer of the inspirational short film documentary, “Esperanza.” Myers owns several other businesses located in the Triad area including: WrestleCade Entertainment & America’s Most Liked Dealer Services.
“Esperanza” earned the Emmy® Awards for best historical/cultural documentary. Myers received an Emmy Award for his role as an Executive Producer of the film. He also served as Producer of the film, “Mi Casa Hogar,” which earned Nick Nanton an Emmy for Best Director. The Emmy® Ceremony was held on November 24, 2013 in Miami, Florida.
“Esperanza” is the inspirational story of how the Great American Pastime of Baseball led a young ball player to his life’s mission. While playing winter ball in the Dominican Republic in 1985, Dave Valle, a Seattle Mariner’s catcher, was swarmed by young children as most young fans would do. Dave soon realized, however, that an autograph was the last thing they wanted; they wanted food. They were starving, and they weren’t the only ones. The ballpark was surrounded by poverty stricken villages. After that eye opening experience Dave and his wife Vicky made a pact to return and make a difference. It was in that moment, Esperanza was born.
The film showcases Esperanza International – an organization that dedicates itself to free children and their families from poverty through initiatives that generate income, education and health, restoring self-worth and dignity to those who have lost hope. It reveals an in-depth look at Esperanza International’s incredible story and what can happen when people believe in an idea and act to make it come true.
“Mi Casa Hogar” reveals an in-depth look at the incredible story of the Casa Hogar children’s home in Acapulco, specifically how the home is providing a nurturing environment with a focus on education in this economically disadvantaged region. Casa Hogar is a children’s home that provides care, shelter, strength, love and hope in a Christian environment for orphaned and abandoned children in Acapulco, Mexico.
Tracy was previously featured in the film “Car Men”, which is a documentary about the Myers family and Frank Myers Auto Maxx. It won 5 Telly Awards and was also nominated for an Emmy.
