“Cash For Clunkers” Reintroduced By Local Auto Dealers

WINSTON SALEM, NC — December 27th, 2010 — Frank Myers Auto Maxx has been chosen as one of the dealerships participating in the NEW “Cash For Carolina Clunkers” program. Details about the upcoming CASH FOR CAROLINA CLUNKERS program have been announced, following up on the car-buying frenzy of last year’s government-sponsored program.

Under the NEW “Cash for Clunkers Carolina” or “Carolina Clunkers” program, consumers receive up to $4,500 more for their vehicle than it’s worth when they trade in their old vehicle and purchase any qualifying vehicle from any participating dealership.

In order to be eligible for the program, the trade-in passenger vehicle must be in drivable condition. Transactions must be made between Dec 27, 2010 and Jan 22, 2011. This is a limited time sale promotion.

FUNDING FOR THE PROGRAM

The CASH FOR CAROLINA CLUNKERS or CAROLINA CLUNKERS program is a privately funded program that helps consumers buy a pre-owned vehicle from a participating dealer when they trade in a “clunker” car or truck. The program is designed to energize the economy, boost auto sales and put safer vehicles on North Carolina roadways. No local, state or federal tax dollars are being used to fund this program.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for a trade-in discount, vehicles must be drivable. Both domestic and imported vehicles are eligible for the program

HOW IT WORKS

Consumers bring their trade-in vehicles to any participating dealership.

Consumers will receive up to $4,500 more for their vehicle than it’s worth when they trade in their old vehicle and purchase any qualifying vehicle.

The dealers are not reimbursed by any other government program or taxpayer-supported program.  The vehicles traded in under the CASH FOR CAROLINA CLUNKERS or CAROLINA CLUNKERS program will be disposed of at the selling dealer’s discretion.
